Choosing Wheels and Gears

Just a little update of the news and other things. We were having a hard time deciding between 3.55 or 3.27 for the gear ratio in the rear. I posted this question on the FFCobra forums, and it sparked quite a few answers. You can see the thread here. Well after much thought and reading all the responses, we ended up going with 3.55 gears. The 3.55 gears will give us the most acceleration on the street and shouldn’t be bad on the freeway.

We finally found the rims we wanted. They are Halibrand rims that have a deep lip look on both the front and back. These are really cool rims and are a little different then most of the other Cobra’s have. These are identical to other Cobra rims however they have a real deep dish look to them. Shown here:

Well it ends up the rims that are pictured above (with the mag coat color in the center) are no longer being made and there are NO stock of them left (trust me, we called all over the place). What they did have available was the pure Chrome versions of the rims above. We ended up ordering those and we may end up having the center of the rims powder coated from a shop locally. We are going to live with the all chrome look for awhile and see if we like them. The wheels and tires should be arriving next week. Pictures to follow. NOTE: We will probably be ordering the center “spinners” for these through a different company.
